Published Oct. 21, 2026, Bitkit version 3.0 introduces Pubky profiles and Paykit, letting users connect with contacts, send and request payments, and manage subscriptions.
On its official GitHub release pages on Oct. 21, 2026, Bitkit, the self-custodial Bitcoin and Lightning wallet from Synonym, published version 3.0 for iOS and Android.
A Pubky profile can be created or imported, and users can connect with contacts, send and request payments, and manage subscriptions.
In version 3.0, Paykit contacts, payment requests and subscriptions are on by default.
Pubky profiles and Paykit are introduced in Bitkit through the release notes.
Because the contact and request features are on from the start, they are there as soon as version 3.0 is installed.
Together, these pieces tie a user’s profile, contacts and payments into one place inside the wallet.
While the app is open and online, Bitkit checks for received payment requests every ten seconds.
A Pubky contact link opens directly in Bitkit, either to add a contact or to view an existing one.
A pubky already kept in Pubky Ring can be used by Bitkit, which also shares its own pubky with Pubky Ring.
Recurring subscriptions can be proposed by Bitkit to Paykit contacts.
A payment request that arrives shows, under the amount, who it is from and what it is for.
The request details and the regular checks keep incoming requests clear and current while the app is in use.
Version 3.0 adds pairing for Blockstream Jade and Jade Plus hardware wallets, over Bluetooth on iPhone and over USB and Bluetooth on Android, with watch-only balances, address verification and on-device transaction signing.
Wallet recovery supports scanning Standard and Compact SeedQR backups.
Users can opt in to the Tether dollar stablecoin in Settings to send and receive it, including contact payments, requests, subscriptions and cross-network deposits, with encrypted payment recovery backups.
The same release adds hardware pairing, SeedQR scanning and the stablecoin option as further choices in the wallet.
A 3.0.1 update published the same day improved reliability for Bitcoin payments after returning to the app and added recovery for expired payments that blocked sends.
On iPhone, Bitkit can open Pubky sign-in requests from web pages.
The release notes and the same-day update show the work that went into version 3.0 and its first follow-up.
